Hunter of stars is the swiss song for Eurovision 2014

This year Switzerland has a strong performace

SEBalter (Sebastiano PaĆ¹-Lessi) was born in Giubiasco in 1985. At the age of 6 he started studying violin, developing later a strong interest in music: Italian singer-songwriter tradition on one hand, and hard rock in another. At the age of 14 he already was playing with a blues band, later moving on bass to a hard rock band, until he discovered Irish music and focused on these sounds.

A business lawyer, for ten years, from from 2002 to 2012 Sebalter was fiddler for The Vad Vuc, a folk rock band based in Ticino in Southern Switzerland. As part of it he has received several awards, including being winner of the festival "Palco Ai Giovani" in 2003, and sold tens of thousands of albums: Il monastero dei folli (2004), Trans Roonkaya Express (2007), La parata dei secondi (2009). The last album with Sebalter's involvement got in top 10 of Swiss charts, making the band best known folk-rock band of the country.

He left the band in July 2012 to start solo career playing mostly acoustic folk inspired music. It was stated that it was solely an independent choice, there has been no conflict with the band, which supported his decision. "I felt a strong need to try some new things, I needed, as it often happens, a breath of fresh air, and wanted to get back in the game with something new". He started working on a solo album which is likely to be released at the end of next summer.
